Natto
Natto is a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans. Fermentation is carried out using a bacterium called Bacillus subtilis. During this process, the characteristic sticky threads and intense aroma of natto, reminiscent of Camembert, are created. Natto is not only known for its taste and consistency, but also for its health properties. With a high protein content, fiber, vitamin K2 and other essential nutrients, it offers a variety of health benefits. It is traditionally served on rice with a little soy sauce and nori. But natto also goes well with noodles and olive oil.
