How we ship
The quality of our ferments is particularly important to us. That is why we carefully package them in reliable, largely plastic-free and usually refrigerated packaging – so that they arrive at your doorstep intact and fresh.
This is how the dispatch of your order usually works:

You will receive a tracking email – please also check your spam folder.

We mainly ship with DPD. Packstations and Hon Mirin (alcoholic product) are shipped via DHL/age verification.

Delivery attempts are made directly; if the recipient cannot be reached, the service provider will forward the parcel to a Packstation or parcel shop.

Letter post within Germany, also with tracking number (starter cultures ≤ 500 g): 2,90€

Digital products (workshops, vouchers): free shipping by email.

We offer free shipping within Germany for orders over 100€.
Storage
Store your orders directly in the refrigerator. Details can be found on the respective product page, in our shipping email and in ‘Shelf life and storage’.
Products containing alcohol
We only ship Hon Mirin to adult recipients via age verification service.

For shipments to Switzerland, the receiver will be charged an additional invoicing fee of CHF 8.00 per shipment.

Our packaging material
Our boxes and ice packs are largely plastic-free, reusable and fully recyclable. The insulation is made of cellulose and can simply be disposed of with your waste paper.
The ice packs are made of plastic and a non-toxic gel filling. The gel can theoretically be disposed of in the toilet, but due to its binding properties, we recommend disposing of it in your general waste. The plastic cover belongs in the yellow bin. Even better is to reuse it!
Paper-laminated ice packs appear more environmentally friendly at first glance, but they are made of a composite material and are therefore much more difficult to recycle than pure plastic. For this reason, we deliberately do not use them.
Transport damage
If an item arrives damaged, please send us photos of the product and packaging for the complaint.
