Salon mimi
The ancient ceremonies between the seasons were meant to create a connection between the world of the living and the world of the dead. Rituals demarcate these transitional periods from everyday life. These annual recurring events are traditionally celebrated with special dishes in Japan.
Reiko Kanazawa organizes four evening events each year: during the 'Equinox' (spring and autumn), 'Bon', a Japanese custom after the summer solstice, and for 'New Year'. Through these special events, we have the opportunity to become aware of the physical and transient nature of our physical presence, as well as the seasons.
