Slavs and Tatars

new year 1

January 2019 with Slavs and Tatars

We are very happy to announce the New Year’s event, dinner and short lecture by Slavs and Tartars at mimi.

Osechi and Ozoni are Japanese traditional New Years foods, which have very specific meaning. Through this dinner Reiko Kanazawa and Yuki Nishino will introduce the tradition of Japanese New Year while at the same time experimenting to rebuild recipes with regional ingredients and fermented products of mimi.

Slavs and Tatars is a faction of polemics and intimacies devoted to an area east of the former Berlin Wall and west of the Great Wall of China known as Eurasia. The collective’s practice is based on three activities: exhibitions, books and lecture-performances.
Slavs and Tatars is represented by: Tanya Bonakdar Gallery (NYC), Kraupa-Tuskany Zeidler (Berlin), Raster Gallery (Warsaw) and The Third Line (Dubai), and currently has the slow exhibition at Kunstverein Hannover.
