Equinox 16 fermentation art dinner installation by Reiko Kanazawa at Mimiferments

For the 16th Equinox on September 20th and 21st, Reiko Kanazawa will realize an installation with curtains and mirrors, and a short performance in collaboration with Pegelia Gold will take place. Reiko Kanazawa and Yuki Nishino will prepare a multi-course equinox menu with fermented food. The carefully crafted dishes incorporate regional German ingredients and products by mimi.

Pegelia Gold, "an anarchic siren nourished by the brew of mysterious mushrooms" (Rocktimes), is a singer, composer, and lyricist. She studied religious studies and archaeology in Leipzig, musicology in Weimar, and completed her vocal studies at the University of Music Würzburg. As a wanderer between worlds, she has interpreted works ranging from baroque to contemporary avant-garde.

The performance 'The Geometry of Opened Lips' explores the origins of our existence. A 15 mm long tissue mesh unfolds the space of consciousness. The voice emerges from the darkness and into the light of the surrounding world, and with each breath it opens the way back into the mysterious cave of the self. In every moment, Pegelia Gold decides what shape her mind projects into the sound of her voice and what world will be created from it. Man is the creator of the word, and the word is the creator of the world it holds.
