What sets our prawn garum apart

This langoustine elixir was made from the heads and claws of Norway lobster (Nephrops norvegicus) sourced from the two-Michelin-star restaurant facil. The idea was initiated by head chefJoachim Gerner, who uses this seafood delicacy in his menus. This langoustine elixir was allowed to mature in a rum barrel at our facility for two years. The result is an intense crustacean essence with rich umami and a distinct barrel note. Just a few drops immediately give dishes a delicate shrimp aroma, refinement, and a sensual allure.

How to use our prawn garum

Langostino Garum is a true powerhouse for the kitchen. This seasoning sauce, derived from langoustines, captivates with itsextremely intense marine aromaand a deep umami note. It is much more than just a fish sauce – it is a versatile flavor enhancer that adds exceptional complexity to dishes. Here are some of the best ways to use it:

Risotto & Pasta:
A few drops at the end of cooking elevate a seafood risotto or a classic pasta vongole to a new level. It acts as a natural flavor booster.

Kimchi & Fermentation:
Instead of classic fish sauce, Langostino Garum gives homemade kimchi a refined, crustacean-like depth that perfectly harmonizes with the chili's spiciness.

Salads & Dressings:
In a vinaigrette, it provides an exciting, salty-tart component that pairs particularly well with bitter salads or grilled vegetables.

Sauces & Dips:Whether in a mayonnaise with fries or as a base for a Beurre Blanc – the sauce adds a luxurious nuance to the mix.

Shelf life

Our Langostino Garum has a best-before date of 7 months from bottling.

Please note, however, that we cannot guarantee that the product will be bottled immediately before dispatch. As we do not bottle every product fresh every day, the remaining shelf life upon receipt may be significantly shorter.

Nevertheless, our products are generally edible long after the stated date. Therefore, please do not dispose of it prematurely. The best-before date refers not only to edibility but also to sensory properties such as color, texture, or taste. Our products usually become somewhat more intense in aroma and darker in color over time.

To best preserve the original color and aroma of our sauce, we recommend storing it in the refrigerator.
